Ces in a bikini for YOU! feel the love.
Posted By Owen at 11:04 PM
So that wraps up our "Beach Peach" saga. I hope you enjoyed it. I certainly had fun. Bikini's and sharks are definitely up there in terms of my personal favorite artistic subjects. This weekend I'm going to go see A History of Violence and Serenity at the cinema. I'm pretty excited. I'm really happy to have Lost and Arrested Development and Nip/Tuck back with new episodes on T.V. as well.
Those are pretty much the only shows I really follow right now, I'd like to watch more but it's hard finding something good. I'll gladly take suggestions.
I started watching season one of the Shield, and I like that well enough.
Here are two excellent, excellent videos by my current two favorite musical artists.
I am digging the hell out of Coheed and Cambria and Chad VanGaalen's new discs.
Incredible tunes, straight solid cd's all the way through, I'm totally in love.
Check those vids, you won't be disappointed.

Brace Yourselves...

...for our spicy contribution to the ADULT Webcomics Telethon (direct link).

September 13, 2005

First Day's Estimated Total: $17,210!
Posted By Chris Crosby at 9:01 PM
The webcomics community has raised $17,210 in the first day of the Telethon, which has now been expanded to three days! My own contribution (the first SORE THUMBS/SUPEROSITY crossover strip) ran at 11:40pm EST, and you can see it right here. To see Owen's half of the crossover, you'll have to watch the ADULT Webcomics Telethon, as that contribution was understandably deemed "too spicy" to run in the all-ages Telethon.

Watch both telethons for some fun free webcomics entertainment, and then open up your e-pocketbook for the worthiest of causes.

The Webcomic Telethon Starts Now!
Posted By Chris Crosby at 8:50 PM
Tune in now to the Webcomic Telethon, which benefits Hurricane Katrina victims! It's updated with a new comic every TWENTY MINUTES, and two of said comics are by myself and Owen! These strips will be extra funny to those who read both SORE THUMBS and my other comic, SUPEROSITY. (Yeah, we's talkin' CROSSOVER.) I'll see about providing direct links after the telethon is over, but it's fun to just keep reloading until you see them! It'll be just like watching the Jerry Lewis telethon, only with less Norm Crosby and more Chris Crosby.

And don't forget to donate money to the Hurricane victims through the site while you're enjoying all that free entertainment!

Barbara Bush = PURE WHITE EVIL
Posted By Chris Crosby at 2:48 AM
EDITOR & PUBLISHER: Accompanying her husband, former President George H.W.Bush, on a tour of hurricane relief centers in Houston, Barbara Bush said today, referring to the poor who had lost everything back home and evacuated, "This is working very well for them." ...

In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: "Almost everyone I've talked to wants to move to Houston."

Then she added: "What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed with the hospitality.

"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (she chuckled)--this is working very well for them."

I've returned home. Ugh.
Posted By Owen at 1:46 PM
Hi everyone. I just got back from vacation in Vancouver, it was the greatest. Food was insane and the TREES man, it was crazy. They love their gelato there in the Van, I tell you what. I'm glad everyone is digging the "Beach Peach" saga, We've had great response in particular for my childhood creation "Mark the Shark". To be honest though, Mark is actually a Chris creation, he's probably my second favorite Superosity character after the much beloved Seep ( or Seep Jr. as it were).
I just moved into a new place here in Regina so It'll take a while to get my Email and such back up to speed. I'll still have Sore Thumbs action for you of course though, I can't miss that. In regards to the T-shirt situation I've picked up a bunch of T-shirt paint and I'm making my own shirts now, I'll let you know if I accidently come up with a design that I think could be marketable. I'm in the camp that thought the Coleman Shirt design was a bit weak, a little to gaudy for my personal tastes maybe, I like my tees in the mono or duo chromatic scale. I do have about a million ideas for shirts though, one of them has to be worthwhile. Maybe I can get Ces to model them, that'll probably help.
My bud John Layman is blogging some interesting stuff about Katrina over on his page.
Loves of the now;
Movie- The Wickerman (1979) -We need more horror/musicals! Corn Rigs and Barley rigs indeed.
Music- Sufjan Stevens "Illinoise" Beautiful. John Wayne Gacy jr. is a killer track. For real.
Book- Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein. I'm totally Grokking it. I'm surprised I haven't read this before now.
Comic- Preacher- Ditto on that, Fantastic stuff. what took me so long?
T.V- I finally started to watch Six Feet Under just this season, and now it's over! Tragic, but ended very well.
Cartoon- Justice league Unlimited, Taken as a whole, it's pretty great. I love that Ari Gold voices the elongated man.
