Our sincere apologies to anyone who was offended by today's comic
Posted By Chris Crosby at 6:00 AM
For those who didn't get the "joke" (such as it was) of today's comic, we do not feel that Sanjaya's elimination from AMERICAN IDOL should in any way be compared to the horror of the Virginia Tech tragedy. That's exactly why we did so, because we were attempting to be very, very, very stupid. Mission accomplished, right? (We also referenced IDOL because judge Simon Cowell was accused of rolling his eyes in response to Chris Richardson's comment on the Virginia Tech tragedy.)

Whatever the case, it was a bad idea, and we apologize. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the Virginia Tech tragedy. * 7 comments

Either be offensive, or don't. If you wanna make a joke about the VT shooting, make a joke about it. If you don't want to offend people, then don't make a joke about it. Why make a joke about it, then spend a paragraph apologizing about it?

Wow, thin skinned aint we? Lets examine this for a bit...One: VT worse mass shooting in history, american idol can we say it was a fish in the barrel and all the other fish just kept getting in the way? Two: VT took a whole week off of school compared to 9/11 that barely scratched the school system calander, san the only ones crying are those poor people who are stupid enough to bet on a lame horse. Three: Sore Thumbs is comedy, get over it....I would not expect them to list Bush as president still with no impeachment trial going on,,,cause that is a tragedy even worse then the VT incident.

Ok, heres putting it in a bit simpler of terms. Don't apologize for what your art is, especially when no one has criticized it. If you're going to make art, don't make it with the intention of having to apologize for it later.

I'm not saying I take offense to the comic, what bothers me is that he made a comment, then backed up and said "oh no, someone might be offended, I should apologize so they don't stop reading"

I'd of much more preferred him to justify his comment by saying that sometimes we just need to move on with our lives.

Your right, it is comedy, and it should be unapologetic in what it is.

This post was prompted by an E-Mail I received almost immediately after posting the comic, from someone who lost a friend in the Virginia Tech massacre.

I'm offended more that you screwed up yet another part of the world for those fucking assholes who did the shooting. You're giving them EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED.

How so?

kinkoblast you're definately going to have to back that statement up.
First off, you presume to know what the shooter wanted which is impossible unless you are the shooter so don't even touch that.
Secondly what part of the world is getting screwed up by the comic?
