People, there's no need to panic -- this excuse wouldn't actually work. The 22nd Amendment is clear on this point. It doesn't matter whether or not he was actually elected in 2000; since he held the office for more than two years of that term, it does count towards his two allowed terms. He can't run again. Relax.
