I think we can all agree that "shut up fag guy" is a little sexist. Let's try using a non gender bias term like "shut up fag bitch."

If anybody looked up the German for this, they are stupid. I would assume the new pope is from Southern Germany.

He's from a small town somewhere in Bayern. So yes, he is southern German, and yes, he was in the Nazi Youth and the German army towards the end of the Second World War - but given that the former was compulsory and he was conscripted for the latter - remember, this was a totalitarian dictatorship - I think people are paying way too much attention to both his nationality and something he was forced to do as a youngster.
I'm more worried by the fact that he does, despite apparently softening his old approach a little, still intend to follow a hardline policy. The Catholic Church needs reform - he was the man who stated that, following the child abuse scandal, that it was just a media campaign to discredit the Catholic Church. He is the man who stated publicly that any pro-choice politicians should be denied Communion.
I can see precisely why the cardinals chose him, but I suspect that he is very much the wrong choice. A safe bet, when the church is in dire need of reform.

You do know that the Nazis were SOCIALISTS, right? Socialist as in WORSE than communists?
The comic just contradicted itself.

Flame, I dont enjoy the german stigma and stereotypes although I disagree with the german pope.

Somewhat of an irony that the nazis started in Stuttgart given the parties persecution of Catholics. I'll explain this because not everyone knows that much German history, but the South (Baden Wurtenberg, Bavaria, tradition Swabia) are Catholic and the North is Protestant. This area was the focus of the 30 Years War (among other things) that decimated Germany and involved most of Europe at one point or another.
I wouldn't worry about this new pope though. He's transitional. (I say this, but he'll probably go on to live another 50 years or something.) Also, who cares if the Catholic Church fractures under debate from hardliners and liberals? The first break was really nothing but positive. (Except the afore mention war.)
